I kept getting advertisements on Facebook “buy coffee from The Sasquatch Coffee Company” and I kept thinking Oh geez another company trying to make a fast buck off my buddy Squatch. I finally started tooling through their website ( http://squatchcoffee.com/ ) and somehow landed on the “free sample”! I enrolled because heck it was free and figured nothing would happen!
Bam, Sasquatch comes knocking on my door! Well, in the form of some good good coffee! Allow me to digress – 20 years ago, South Korea (pre Starbucks), and I had to send to the states for good coffee (Pete”s Coffee). So, I love love love good coffee! I opted for the Howl in the Night coffee “A dark french roast offering a caramelized taste accenting the pronounced earthy quality of Sumatran beans, complete with a deep deep complex body”. This coffee is so so so good! It has a taste that Sasquatch and I both enjoy – earthy, woody, with a long aftertaste that is so incredible.
I love this coffee –
I will have this coffee with me this next season of Squatching up in the Big Horn Mountains here in Lodge Grass, Montana – I know, I saw Sasquatch this last year near treeline up near Windy Point. Don’t try to 4wheel up because it is Crow Indian only! Reservation Sasquatch – and yes, he has been seen many times and I have listened to many stories involving the Big Horns and Sasquatch. Well, that is another story!
Thank You for the great coffee –
No, I don’t get paid for product reviews! Okay, no one ever asked me – and since this blog does cost me $$ – I probably would. (If you are in the mood to donate HIT the Paypal donation button!)
When I was four years old, two men in black suits came to our home in Concord, Ohio and tested me. My parents claim this never happened but I remember it clear as day. I remember they took me into a room and did a series of test – cards with forms and shapes on them and then they talked with my mother and left. How can I have such a clear memory of this event and yet be told it never happened. When I was five I wrote a letter to President Nixon asking him to help “my people” Indians in the west. His Secretary of the Interior, Walter J. Hickel wrote back and told me that he was working to help the native people. Sitting in a meeting with a medicine man and asked to relay my clans I state Hungarian and German and….later the medicine man takes me aside and says you have another Clan Northern Cree.
I can remember my nightmares as a child falling. Being on a large ship and then plummeting back to earth.
Abstract thoughts that play over in my mind – the why of each.
I started to title this post To Fear or Not to Fear because growing up I was always afraid. I remember building these scenarios in my mind to get to sleep at night because I knew someone was going to “get me”. Abduction played over and over in my young mind. Christian school for thirteen years did not help matters. They instilled the fear of Johnathan Edwards “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”; your hair is touching your ear therefore you are going to hell legalism. I was whipped and rebelled, whipped more and began to escape into books and nature. I learned to ignore but the fear remained.
No one ever gave me options. I fumbled along through college and then through life directionless.
The one thing in life I have wanted to do – I have never done.
There is so much good I could do – yet I stand motionless – without ego – wondering, thinking, “IF”
Fear? It is amazing what one can live through!
It always goes back to 4th grade, Mrs Spurrier – Memorize Rudyard Kipling “IF” ! and then 7th grade Mrs Spurrier being hauled into the hallway and asked to rat on another student and not saying anything while she berated me and tried to trick me and say that “he said – she said” routine…I stood solid and never flinched and she finally smiled and told me I was okay – she hated rats! I took the whipping for David Smetters in fourth grade, took the whipping in fifth grade for Jimmy Venman, I can still feel the muscle memory of being whipped to this day. I think that is a good thing because it got me through my fear. Through one of the toughest times – “Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,” Lies ruined my life but set me free and they still circulate and I smile thankful.
I met a cashier at the local IGA who was being questioned by the FEDS. She was shaken up – dire fear – and asked for advice – no, I did not quote Rudyard Kipling – I simply told her to keep her mouth shut. Don’t talk to friends, relatives, e-mail, text, anything!
I think often of Edward Snowden who gave his life for our country and I wonder about his fear. I know the media is a mass manipulation of lies. Our politicians sold to the highest bidder.
Life is the energy you surround yourself with –
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build’em up with worn-out tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
Thanks be to God who giveth to all men liberally –
This is dedicated to my old friend David Smetters – thanks for the brick in the wall!
So, I have the best black lab in the world! His name is Mojo and he is ancient and bonded to me. We are never apart. He is always happy and always ready to go! Some of the Crow people tease me because he is always sitting in my old truck.
Four different times now he has gone crazy angry chasing and barking at seemingly nothing? It started two weeks ago when he was barking and went after something in the house in the middle of the night. The next morning when we were way outback on the ranch he was looking at something and barking and barking as we came closer. Yesterday was the most abnormal barking, we were sitting in the front room about two in the afternoon basking in the warmth of a huge fire and Mojo just started barking at something in the doorway. He jumped up and went after it and I grabbed my ever-present shotgun and followed. Nothing – he went to the sliding glass door and barked. I looked and looked but nothing. I praised him and we went back into the living room all the while he had a low growl followed by an occasional bark. It was the oddest thing I have experienced.
I was reminded of Balaam’s donkey seeing the angel in the road in Numbers 22: 21-39. Moving to the ranch I have seen some odd abnormal unconventional things and sensed a “presence”. It is interesting that late at night an owl has taken roost across the river from the house and then last night in the pines a few feet from the house.
I do not know if Mojo sees something that I am unable to see – but my guess is that whatever he sees is not a benevolent angel as in Balaam’s case and I trust my dogs instinct. I remember years back when I first became aware of Skinwalkers and the neighbor (Navajo) told me get a cat they always sense the presence.
Yes, I puzzled over the title – I am making meatloaf and a truck drives up. I think that is odd because the gate is closed. I throw my Muck boots on and head outside. A Native American guy about mid 40’s long brown hair in a pony tail and a red ball cap gets out of his mid-90’s Chevy 4×4 (complete with bald tires so ya know he was from Lodge Grass). But, half way through our chat – his tone switched and he asked if he could tell me a story. Being me, I was enthralled.
He started off a bit disjointed and told me one day back in the early 90’s he was in Crow Agency (you know cause every one moves through there) and this guy gets out of the passenger side of a late model expensive ElDorado. The guy has long blonde hair and is tone, tan and looks angelic. He approaches and asks the native what tribe? Crow – from Lodge Grass – and then he listens to a diatribe about the coming end of the world. The blonde passenger is a hitchhiker headed to Lame Deer on the Cheyenne Rez for sweat lodge. He claims, he is a wealthy guy that has been chosen to spread the word of the apocalypse. He tells the native to buy ” Phoenix Rising by Mary Summer Rain. He claims to have been told by the author to spread the word among the native people. The native tells me that he believes a time is coming when all the computer plastic mechanical things will all cease in one day and then no matter who or how wealthy your are – it will not matter. He said his grandfather told him of a time coming when life will grow hard so learn as much as one can about the old ways and prepare.
So, I am standing in my driveway listening and the native guy comes back to himself after an hour long telling. I was enthralled! He smiles and says maybe he will come back this way again someday! and drove away.
Times like these are why I love living on the Crow Rez!
Amazon describes the book:
“In a cabin set deep in a Colorado forest, flickering firelight softens the weathered face of an aged wise woman as she quietly reveals her dramatic visions of the future. Wishing to be called No-Eyes, the old one shares her extensive foresight with her inquisitive and often precocious student, Mary Summer Rain. The intense interactions of the companionable pair range from stern discipline to awe to playfulness. And their heartfelt relationship continues to captivate readers from all walks of life.
Phoenix Rising covers an autumn season in the early 1980’s when extensively detailed revelations were shared by the visionary. The subject matters cover earth changes, economic decline, the devaluation of real estate, Stock Market, nuclear meltdowns, civil unrest, new diseases, radiation leaks, problems within the Church, wars, laboratory leaks, government upheaval, natural disasters such as earthquakes, sinkholes, volcanoes, high winds, catastrophic floods, wide-spread droughts, and more.”
Angel, Mystic, all I know is he was definitely native – now why talk to me?
11pm and I am out walking the ranch. I hear the horses splash through the river as they cross. No, I am not usually out this late walking. I stand and just listen. Faint at first – people talking and I catch a whiff of wood smoke. They are not speaking English something old – older than Crow – guttural, low but pleasing to the ear. A child cries and I hear the yip of a coyote and I know that the coyote is on my side of the rift and the native people camped by the river are on the other.
Something tells me to turn and look to the Wolf Mountains and as I do I see the blood red moon rising silhouette black pine on blood red moon.
The rift vanishes as the moon rises and I am left with the faint smell of woodsmoke – my thoughts flow with the river water rushing onward – slowed for a moment’s glimpse past, present, future stained blood red.
This just in from a friend who wishes to remain anonymous but is a well respected UFO Researcher!
“I just got through reading a book called “Hunt for the Skinwalker,” that is based on the para-normal case on Skinwalker Ranch (Sherman Ranch) from near Ft. Duchesne, Utah. It’s interesting in the similarities in both of the cases (Satan Butte & Skinwalker Ranch); and it’s also interesting that both cases were investigated by Robert Bigelow‘s Investigative Group from Las Vegas, NV. ?
Another interesting fact I determined is that the Satan Butte Case and the Utah Skinwalker Ranch Case lie on the same Longitude? 109.8546 and 109.8650 – Coincidence? Ley Line?
So, what happened on that fateful night when my life changed with UFO’s and Skinwalkers?
It was around 9 pm, I walked outside to check on the horses which were in the corral about 50 yards from our house. Something was spooking them! I looked across the corral and saw a misty silverish cigar shaped object hovering four feet off the ground behind the corral. The sun was setting behind me and so I could see the horses were clearly distraught. I reached back inside for my pellet gun which I kept loaded inside the door to chase off studs (the horse variety not stray men).
I looked across the corral again and all the horses were on the south side and the cigar shaped object was to the north east and hovering yet in a mist. I aimed and fired! I shot the cigar shaped object and distinctly heard a ping as the pellet hit the object. Bam just like that the object climbed and accelerated so fast that I almost did not see where it went! It shot across the yard toward the neighbors house about 100 yards away! The only way I saw where it went was through my peripheral vision and when I saw it again I took aim but it was gone around the side of their house.
Most people see flying saucers that look slightly cigar shaped and hover side to side but this was a cigar shaped object that can be pictured more like a Torpedo Cigar stood on end with the larger portion being higher in the air and the tip toward the ground. It put off an odd vapor or mist that made it hard to focus on, but it was silverish in color and distinct enough to shoot.
I went to the back of the house and looked west toward Satan‘s Butte and saw the ship that was dropping tendrils of light toward the ground. This time my wife witnessed the spectacle. We took many pictures and while the UFO was about 2 – 3 miles away it appeared perfectly in my viewfinder. My wife has excellent eyesight and while watching through our binoculars she spotted a second UFO and pointed it out. It was hovering higher than the other one and at a greater distance. Finally I was not going to be locked up in the looney bin! Two witnesses and multiple pictures all sent to Mufon and documented.

Hello Jeff, (Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 1057 hours)
I’ve been wanting to drop you a line, but I”ve been really busy lately.
First, Lt. Jon Dover and I were trying to contact you back on the week of July 12th. We were working with personnel from Bigelow Aerospace (from Las Vegas) investigating the Satan Butte sight. We escorted their personnel out to the butte, so they could conduct various readings and tests. We attempted to contact you several times as they were very interested in meeting you and possibly conducting an interview with you while they were here, but that didn’t work out. Loran would still like you to call him. If you want more informnation on Bigelow Aerospace you can go to their website at bigelowaerospace.org the person I’m working with is Loran Huffman-Senior Investigator, Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies his number is wk. ph# (702) 798-0444.
Last night a local medicine man came to the house – while I know him well in the rodeo arena through his son – he has never spoken about skinwalkers or “medicine” in the Navajo way. I digress and will weave this into the story in a bit.
The evening after heading over to Satan’s (Zions’) Butte and meeting the officers, I went to Taylor to pick up a horse and headed back to Greasewood arriving approx 11:45. As we drove down the drive to our home a skinwalker was in the driveway…I did not see it but both my wife Mary and her sister yelled at the same moment and I felt nauseous. I knew I needed to unload three horses and settle the new baby into her stall. I hit the sack about 12:30 totally shot.
I woke up about 3:30 and began to vomit and let go the other end at the same time. I was so so sick! I went out and laid on the couch and had the oddest out of body experience. It was as if I were floating over my body and watching things enter and try to tear at my soul. I was gasping for breath and yet something kept projecting a vision of me lying naked wrapped in a sheet with my hands folded across my chest dead outside on the patio. They kept saying that this was not my place not my home not where I was supposed to be – and I kept fighting and gasping for breath! Finally, my wife Mary came out of a deep slumber and found me (I do not remember any of this) and she quickly knew that she had to give me what the Navajo refer to as bitter medicine and then go and burn cedar – she also gave me my medicine pouch – the cedar, bitter medicine, and pow it hit me hard and as I was coming out of the coma (for lack of a better term) a huge snake came up in the front window and said one neighbors name in a snake hiss voice. (I took this to mean that this was the person who sent the skinwalkers) as I came out – the snake retreated and the horses went absolutely nuts…the dogs began to howl and life was again normal on the rez.
The old medicine man came and asked me if everything was okay last evening – I related my skinwalker story and he explained that someone who hated me had sent them to kill me – but not just skinwalkers – the very demons that control these things (Graham Hancock in Supernatural has an interesting explanation for this – ) I digress – when I finished telling the old medicine man my story I grew very ill again and had to run for the bathroom. Navajo’s are patient people (aside from my wife) and he waited till I came back soaked in sweat and smelling like a dead cow. He instructed me on how to deal with what the “demons had left in me – and I followed his advice and for the first time feel better today!
He and I shared stories of aliens, his mother, and donkey mutilations…he also said a sheep was mutilated and investigated by the Rangers over near Summit – of late.
He became ill and had to leave – he said whatever had affected me was affecting him. I know who sent them or who paid for them to be sent – and I know that in time he will be paid back with loss.
Interesting sidenote – Milford the Ranger said to me – you have to have strong faith or you will be killed by witchcraft here on the Rez!
Is it inter-related…one friend said he saw a buncha Ranger and Black Op vehicles around our house that Friday night? I do have strong faith and know that once again my Father saved me from the wickedness/folly of men.
PS I have seen skinwalkers before and it is terrifying…the interesting part is you can kill a skinwalker on the Navajo Rez and face no prosecution – Navajo Nation Law…ask Bill Battles my attorney in WR.

I apologize again for the delay in responding but I’ve been tied up in work related activities and about a week behind in reading my mail. It’s absolutely cool about the elders enjoying their backup role! Further, it’s beyond cool as to the young elders along with the senior elder placing the 4 sealed books of Mormon on the rim and renaming the Satan Butte – Zion’s Butte! I also prefer Zion’s Butte and congratulate them – Good Work!
Now the mind blower is your sighting of a “Skinwalker” the night after my friends checked out Zion’s Butte. If possible, I would certainly appreciate an overview on what occurred in your sighting. That is extremely interesting that the event happened the night after Zion’s Butte was monitored.
Thanks so much for the update and I’ll keep you posted on any events reported that would be of interest to you, especially if anything is reported in your area. I’ll check my mail more often, busy or not, to avoid any delays in responding.

The elders loved their role as back-up!
We all got together this last Tuesday (the elders day off) and hiked the whole bowl of Satan’s Butte – it is interesting that it forms a bowl inside the butte and I used my GPS to figure (approx) where the UFO came down. It would have landed or hovered in the bowl. I was thinking (line of sight) that it was further north but I was wrong – a GPS never lies…just my old eyes!
On a kind of funny note – the Mormon elders brought along a senior elder and they put four sealed books of Mormon at the highest points along the rim! They re-named Satan’s Butte – Zion’s Butte! I enjoyed it and thought it is a much better more sanctified name!
On a more ominous note – we had increased “skinwalker activity” the night after the Ranger’s checked things out on Zion’s Butte? Interesting huh? Saw one right next to the house!
I understand your curiosity and being cautious – no problem with that! Lt. Dover and his Special Ops Rangers are cool guys and they were equally impressed with you. Did the young elders have some excitement as backup operatives? I think that was cool with binocs, radios and camera.
Please let me know if you experience any further activity and I will do the same. Also, I apologize for not responding sooner but I read your e-mail on Friday morning while checking out my wife’s laptop at Sky Harbor International waiting for our flight to Sacramento, CA for her annual family reunion. I tried a quick response but was not fast enough to get the job done before having to board our flight. I then tried to respond once in Sacramento but had internet issues. Keep in touch!

Okay – so my curiosity got the best of me and I had the Mormon elders back me up and with radio, camera, binocs in hand – rode the atv out and asked them what was up! They were both totally cool – we swapped stories and it was a very interesting – thank you so much for being so cool and patient with me – I just told em I was careful and did not wanna be hauled away by men in white jackets…
I thought you would be interested……use my name if you decide to chat with them

> Dear Mr. Lors,
> I want to let you know that on Friday, 9 July 2010, at about 09:30 hours, Rangers from the Navajo Nation Department of Resource Enforcement are schedule to be checking out the area of Satan Butte. The Rangers have worked with us in the past and will be driving Black SUV’s and/or Black Pick Up Trucks. I wanted to let you know in case you happen to be in the area and observe the vehicles. The lead Ranger should be Lt. J. Dover.

The next morning, I sent the pictures and a brief report to MUFON (http://www.ufostalker.com/?mufon=true ) and was called at my home within minutes of the report hitting the net! I got a call from a lady at MUFON! – she asked if I would be willing to be interviewed that evening – I said sure – Dominic Mancini, from Phoenix interviewed me for two hours – amazing – they were intrigued by the photos. We talked and exchanged e-mails over the next couple weeks till I got word that some “Navajo Rangers” were coming out to see the site! I thought “yeah right” Dominic said 9:30 on Friday and I thought sure sure… I went down and checked (the butte being about three miles from our home) and sure enough some feds were at Satan’s Butte.
They were driving “Navajo Ranger” vehicles and were very personable. They stated that they were part of a “special ops” paranormal investigation group of 16 Rangers on the Navajo Reservation. They said they did not advertise! Well, I rode up on my atv backed up by two Mormon elders, Ben Gregersen and Jason Rowe that had a two-way radio and binoculars trained on my back. I stopped some ways out and turned on the HD video on my Nikon so I could surreptitiously tape the interview. It was fascinating!I started the interview complaining about cattle and grazing since we have a large grazing permit…the Lt chuckled and said “we both know we are not here about grazing and cattle” He then told me about his “Special Ops” unit…they investigate Skinwalkers, witchcraft, paranormal, archaeology site/theft, and everything in between. They have Gen 4 night equipment, AR15’s, Sat link computers the list goes on….On an interesting side note – the next evening we had more Skinwalkers visit our home than I care to remember!
Beginning in June 2010, I started to notice an odd light at 9:46 in the evening and it appeared to be descending onto what is known locally as Satan’s Butte. The local Navajo have tales about a large snake that lived on top of the butte and ancient rituals were performed around a huge fire – the snake would emerge from a hole and “wishes” were granted to the supplicants. If cows or sheep wandered into the vicinity – they were just left to the butte. Knowing this and having heard stories from local Navajo Ranchers about a craft that was seen to enter the crater formed inside Satan’s Butte, I was curious but dismissed the stories as local folklore to entertain the white rancher! On June 2nd I rushed into the house and told my wife that I had seen something descending into Satan’s Butte. She rolled her eyes and asked when she should call the men in white jackets. I swore I saw something that appeared to be cylindrical and had flashing red lights in the middle. Two night later, I rushed into the house and told her to look out because it was descending again. She was not quick enough and missed the craft. By this time, the wife really thought I had flipped out or was drinking! I then told her that I was going to Flagstaff to Best Buy and buy a good camera so I could photograph it next time it landed. I bought a good digital Nikon! Having bought the Nikon, I waited and waited…
(I have full MUFON documentation of this story complete with e-mails and photos)
